A 57-year-old woman was critically injured today when she was struck by a pickup truck near the intersection of West Mill Plain Boulevard and Kauffman Avenue.

The woman was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center by two Vancouver firefighters and an American Medical Response ambulance, according to Jim Flaherty, a Vancouver Fire Department spokesman.

The woman remains in critical but stable condition, according to a press release from the Vancouver Police Department.

The Vancouver Police Department traffic unit is investigating the 11:30 a.m. crash.

The truck was traveling in the eastbound lanes on West Mill Plain Boulevard when the collision occurred. Police declined to identify the victim, whose family has not yet been notified.

The driver of the vehicle, Robert M. Bair of Vancouver, 67, has not been cited, Vancouver Police spokeswoman Kim Kapp said.

Alcohol or drugs are not believed to have been a factor.

The investigation is ongoing.
