EVERETT, Wash. (AP) — The 15-year-old girl whose beating in Seattle’s bus tunnel was widely seen on video is facing robbery charges in a separate case in Everett.

Aisha Steward-Baker was expected to plead guilty Monday but surprised prosecutors by asking to go to trial instead.

She and another girl are accused of beating a woman and stealing her purse last May in Edmonds.

KOMO-TV reports her trial is set for May 11, and if convicted she faces a longer term in juvenile detention than the three-to-nine months she would have faced if she pleaded guilty.

In January Steward-Baker was attacked by several people in the Seattle bus tunnel as security guards watched.
