KENT, Wash. (AP) — A motorcycle racer was fatally injured in a crash at the Pacific Raceways track in Kent.

The King County sheriff’s office says 62-year-old Claud Jinks of Olympia was running practice laps Sunday when he lost control on a curve and slid into a tire barrier.

He was airlifted to Harborview Medical Center in Seattle where he died.

Jinks was a board member of the Washington Motorcycle Road Racing Association, which sponsored the event.
