Unusually Sound wins at Santa Anita

ARCADIA, Calif. (AP) — Unusually Sound dominated wire-to-wire, beating Thorondor by 114 lengths to win Santa Anita’s $48,400 allowance feature Wednesday.

Under Alex Solis, the 4-year-old gelding ran one mile on turf in 1:34.42 for his second straight win.

Unusually sound paid $4.20, $2.60 and $2.40. Thorondor, ridden by Joel Rosario, returned $3.20 and $2.80. With Martin Pedroza in the saddle, Trulymet’smydaddy brought $4.60 to show.

Unusually Sound earned $28,800 to bring his three-race total to $65,600.
