YAKIMA, Wash. (AP) — The Yakima City Council voted in favor of extending the city’s ordinance against aggressive panhandling to parking lots.
The Yakima Herald-Republic reports council members declined to impose tougher restrictions on panhandling at Tuesday’s meeting because they don’t want to take police away from fighting gang violence.
The Yakima sheriff’s office reports there were two gang-related drive-by shootings Tuesday night and early Wednesday in Outlook. Shots were fired into two homes. No one was hurt.
