A man suspected of being the River Rat bandit and his alleged getaway driver have been indicted on four additional counts of bank robbery.

The new indictments were filed in U.S. District Court in Portland against Alexey Perez-Hernandez, 33, and Travis Lee Oles, 35. Both men remain in custody in the Clark County Jail, where they are facing five local robbery charges.

The new counts accuse them of the following robberies: Aug. 7, Columbia State Bank, 10735 N.E Halsey St., $4,484; Aug. 19, Riverview Community Bank, 10401 N.E. Halsey St., $8,576; Aug. 26, same branch of Riverview Community Bank; $6,975; and Sept. 8, Albina Community Bank, 5636 N.E. Sandy Blvd., $5,510.

The total amount stolen in all 18 robberies from late July to October 2009 is believed to be $100,000. The robberies occurred along the Interstate 5 corridor from King County to Oregon.

Perez-Hernandez, who is from Bonney Lake near Tacoma, was apprehended in October in Pierce County after a lone fingerprint was recovered from a Kent check-cashing store following a Sept. 14 robbery.

He was transported in December to face charges in Clark County.
