COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. (AP) — The pair that managed the silver-medal hockey team at the Winter Olympics in Vancouver will lead the U.S. team again at the International Ice Hockey Federation World Men’s Championship.
USA Hockey said Monday that Toronto Maple Leafs general manager Brian Burke would be general manager for the U.S. team for the event May 7-23 in Germany. Nashville Predators general manager David Poile will be assistant general manager.
New York Islanders coach Scott Gordon will coach the men’s national team. His assistants will be Minnesota Wild coach Todd Richards and Ron Rolston, who is one of two head coaches at USA Hockey’s National Team Development Program.
Gordon was an assistant coach for the U.S. Olympic team.
