LOS ANGELES (AP) — Forward Caron Butler is sitting out of the Dallas Mavericks’ game against the Los Angeles Clippers with a strained right hip.

Butler didn’t dress for Monday night’s game, while fellow forward Shawn Marion returned to the Mavericks’ lineup after missing three games with a strained oblique muscle.

Butler is Dallas’ third-leading scorer with 16.2 points per game, also averaging 6.2 rebounds and 2.1 assists.

Rodrigue Beaubois took Butler’s place in the starting lineup and scored nine points in the first nine minutes.
