TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Defense Department has released the identity of a Fort Bragg soldier from Washington state who was killed in Afghanistan last weekend.
Twenty-one-year-old Spc. Joseph T. Caron, of Tacoma, Wash., died Sunday in Char Bagh, Afghanistan. Insurgents attacked his unit using an improvised explosive device.
He was assigned to the 2nd Battalion, 508th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 4th Brigade Combat Team, 82nd Airborne Division, based at Fort Bragg, N.C.
