The Ridgefield National Wildlife Refuge is seeking volunteers to help remove invasive plants on Wednesday morning. In return for lending a hand, volunteers will be able to glimpse areas of the refuge that are usually off-limits to the general public.

Volunteers should bring rubber boots and meet at 9 a.m. at the kiosk at the start of the auto tour route on the River S unit on the south edge of Ridgefield off Hillhurst Road. The event will wrap up by 12:30 p.m.

Volunteers will dig up an invasive wetland plant known as yellow flag iris.
