Community Foundation wins national awards

VANCOUVER — The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington sure knows how to spread the word.

For the second year in a row, the foundation won two awards for excellence in communications from the Council on Foundations. There are more than 700 community foundations in the United States.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington won a gold award for public information campaigns for its 25th anniversary campaign, and a silver award in its Web site category. The awards will be presented during an annual conference next weekend in Denver.

In 2009, the Community Foundation won bronze in the Web site category and silver in the newsletter category.

The Community Foundation for Southwest Washington is a tax-exempt public charity that holds more than 240 distinct funds. It has infused more than $87 million into the community since it was established in 1984.
