OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) — After a 55-year-old man was found dead of heart failure at his home in Olympia, investigators found a collection of human bones — three complete skeletons and eight skulls.
Thurston County Coroner Gary Warnock says no crime is suspected. The bones appear to be old — the type once used for medical instruction.
The state Department of Archaeology and Historic Preservation is trying to determine if any of the skulls are the remains of American Indians and if they can be identified and returned to a tribe.
For now, the bones are at the coroner’s office in Tumwater.
