Business name: Pacific Energy Concepts.
Owner: Keith Scott.
Address: 9602 N.E. 126th Ave., Suite 2460, Vancouver.
What the business does: Pacific Energy Concepts is an energy conservation company focused on reducing energy waste for commercial and industrial businesses. Pacific Energy works with customers to find out how they use their facility and what is important to them. Scott says customers can expect to see more than a 50 percent reduction in energy consumption and an improvement in the working environment.
How has the economy affected your business: Scott said the economy pushed him to be more price competitive. A couple years ago, the average customer would have been excited to see a return on their investment in about two and a half to three years. Now, companies want to see a return on their investment sooner than that. Those demands have pushed Scott to find high-quality products that perform for more competitive prices. Scott said maintaining competitive prices has been a challenge, in part because he made a promise when he started to sell products made in America.
Greatest challenge: Making companies aware of potential savings and for them to look at energy conservation as an investment rather than as an unnecessary building upgrade.
What’s ahead: Scott said he will be hiring more team members. He also said his company is in the planning process for building a showcase so potential customers can see the products available. His goal is to help local companies save 4 million kilowatt hours this year.
