APRIL 12, 2010 — Just five years ago SethAaron Henderson got his first sewing machine, and now he’s among the final three competing on the current season of “Project Runway.”

On last Thursday’s challenge, Henderson, a 38-year-old Vancouver resident, and the other four remaining contestants were tasked with creating circus-inspired looks.

Henderson grew up going to the circus every year, so he found the challenge exciting.

“I loved it,” he said in a recent phone interview. Henderson looked to the ringmaster and jugglers when designing his look. He wanted it to have an over-the-top, Parisian flair.

Henderson created a double-zippered, black-and-white jacket with bright yellow details and lining, paired with red faux-leather pants. The pants material was hard to work with and got stretched out, but still Henderson was happy with his look.

“It was very well-made,” he said.

On this Thursday’s episode, which airs at 10 p.m. on Lifetime Comcast Channel 69, contestants Jay Nicolas Sario and Mila Hermanovski will vie for the third spot in the final three, which also will include Henderson and Emilio Sosa. The season concludes on April 22.
