SEATTLE (AP) — Lorenzo Romar is staying put at Washington — for a long time.

Romar has agreed to a new 10-year contract with the school that extends through the 2019-20 season. The announcement was made on the Huskies’ official athletic Web site on Monday afternoon.

Romar just completed his eighth season at Washington, where he played his college ball. The Huskies won their second Pac-10 Conference tournament title and advanced to the round of 16 in the NCAA tournament for the third time in Romar’s tenure.

Romar has a 171-91 record at Washington and five NCAA tournament appearances. He already ranks third all-time in victories among Washington coaches.
