PORTLAND, Ore. (AP) — Voter pamphlets for the May 18 primary election will be mailed out to Oregon voters starting Wednesday.
For more than a century, the state has been publishing the pamphlets that allow Oregonians to make statements on candidates and issues.
The state now has more than 2 million voters, and 1.7 million pamphlets are going out. The idea is to reach every household in the state. The mailing costs $445,000.
Ballots will be mailed starting April 30, and Oregonians have until April 27 to register.
Audio and Spanish editions of the pamphlet will be available Monday at the secretary of state’s Web site, oregonvotes.org.
