SEATTLE (AP) — A $40,000 donation from the owner of Duke’s Chowder House restaurants should keep the unlimited hydroplanes racing on Lake Washington at this summer’s Seafair celebration in Seattle.

The owner, Duke Moscrip, announced the donation Wednesday to make up the difference between what drivers said they need and what the Seafair organization could offer.

The hydroplane races have been a Seafair tradition for 60 years.
