A man suspected of robbing a US Bank branch has been taken into custody behind a strip mall near Thurston Way and Northeast Parkway Drive, according to emergency police scanners monitored at The Columbian.

Witnesses reported seeing the suspect, a white male, fleeing on a bike and wearing a black wig.

Employees from area businesses helped pursue the man after he exited the bank. He was taken into custody at about 11:50 p.m., a few minutes after the robbery was reported.

The stolen money was recovered from the suspect, and he was positively identified by a bank employee, according to radio traffic.

The US Bank branch is located 7003 N.E. 40th Street.
