Medical research and programs that help moms carry healthy babies to term will get a boost Saturday when the March for Babies takes to the streets.

The event is the March of Dimes’ premier fundraising event benefitting babies. It started in 1970 and is the original fundraising walking event. It raises money to help moms have healthy pregnancies and healthy babies, and supports families of babies born sick or too early.

Hundreds of people are expected to turn out for the Clark County March for Babies. It is set for Saturday at Vancouver Landing, just west of the Red Lion at 100 Columbia Street. Registration begins at 8 a.m. and the walk starts at 9 a.m.

For more information, visit www.marchofdimes.org or call community director Jill Brown, 503-222-9434, ext. 20.
