SEATTLE (AP) — A 24-year-old homeless man accused of threatening to cut a Muslim woman and her 6-month-old baby has been sentenced to 112 years in prison.

SeattlePI.com reports that Eric Lee Garner was sentenced Friday in King County Superior Court after pleading guilty to second-degree assault and malicious harassment. Prosecutors allege he threatened the woman and her son at the Seattle Indian Health Board on July 1.

Garner’s attorney told Judge Laura Inveen that Garner had been suffering from mental health problems. But prosecutors say he violated what should be a safe place to seek medical care.

In a separate case, Garner has been charged with first-degree rape after a 13-year-old girl was assaulted at knifepoint.
