ROSEBURG, Ore. (AP) — A Douglas County jail inmate has been sentenced to three years in prison after pleading no contest to conspiracy to commit kidnapping.

Authorities say 43-year-old Dean William Blanton of Roseburg asked another inmate to help him kidnap an ex-girlfriend. The plan was never carried out.

The ex-girlfriend testified at this week’s sentencing that Blanton has been stalking and frightening her for years.

She recalled that when they were a couple Blanton poured bleach on her during an argument and later set her front porch on fire.

After the hearing, the victim told The News-Review newspaper of Roseburg she was “disgusted” with the length of the sentence.
