ONTARIO, Calif. (AP) — Polish heavyweight Tomasz Adamek overcame Chris Arreola’s punching power and size advantage to win his 10th straight fight, earning a majority decision Saturday night in Arreola’s backyard.

Adamek (41-1, 27 KOs) repeatedly was staggered by Arreola, who weighed 3312 pounds more than the former light heavyweight and cruiserweight. Arreola (28-2), from nearby Riverside, Calif., appeared to be close to stopping Adamek in the middle rounds, but hurt his hand twice.

Adamek was more aggressive in the final rounds, winning the fight on two judges’ scorecards and earning a draw on the third.

Arreola lost in his second bout since getting stopped by Vitali Klitschko in his first world title shot last September.
