GRANITE FALLS, Wash. (AP) — Granite Falls Police Chief Tony Domish has been placed on paid administrative leave while the police department is being investigated.

Granite Falls Mayor Haroon Saleem asked Snohomish County Sheriff John Lovick to investigate after putting Domish on leave Friday.

Saleem would not discuss the reason for the investigation but told the Daily Herald of Everett that “it’s not personal.”

Domish declined to comment, saying he was ordered not to discuss it.

Sheriff’s Lt. Rick Hawkins will serve as interim chief of the town of about 3,900 people during the investigation.
