DENVER (AP) — Colorado Rockies outfielder Brad Hawpe has been placed on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left quadriceps.
The team announced the move Sunday, a day after Hawpe left the opening game of Saturday’s doubleheader against the Florida Marlins because of tightness in his left quad.
Hawpe has been bothered by the quad for some time. He was limited to pinch hitting in the final two games of a series against the New York Mets earlier this month.
The Rockies recalled infielder Eric Young Jr. from Triple-A Colorado Springs to replace Hawpe on the roster.
