Cars collide near Ridgefield

An Oregon man was taken to a local hospital complaining of back pain after a two-car collision on Interstate 5 near Ridgefield.

The Washington State Patrol reported the accident occurred at 3:01 p.m. Sunday in the northbound lanes near Ridgefield.

A minivan driven by Jeffrey A. Young, 44, of Woodland rear-ended a small pickup driven by Heather D. Maughan, 32, of Clatskanie, Ore., when she slowed due to traffic.

A passenger in her truck, Gene W. Maughan, 32, was taken to Legacy Salmon Creek Medical Center after complaining of back pain.

Young was cited for following too closely.
