KENMORE, Wash. (AP) — A small fire at Kenmore Junior High School was arson.
The Northshore Fire Department says a King County fire investigator determined the fire was set. Arson signs have been posted at the school, seeking information.
Department spokeswoman Terri Jones says investigators also are looking into a small fire that burned a bush overnight near a school in Bothell.
The Kenmore fire was reported about 5 a.m. in an outdoor covered walkway. Firefighters prevented it from spreading to a nearby gym. Damage is estimated at $10,000.
The fire did not prevent Kenmore Junior High from opening on schedule.
