KLAMATH FALLS, Ore. (AP) — The six national wildlife refuges in the Klamath Basin are developing their first-ever comprehensive conservation plan.

Refuge complex manager Ron Cole told the Herald and News newspaper it will take two to three years to develop the conservation plan in consultation with the public.

The plan will guide refuge management for the next 15 years.

The six refuges provide key habitat for migrating waterfowl and bald eagles, hunting and bird watching for the public, and leased lands for farming.
