ARLINGTON, Texas (AP) — Chicago White Sox pitching coach Don Cooper will miss the three-game series in Texas.
Before the series opener against the Rangers on Tuesday night, the White Sox said Cooper is attending to a personal matter at home in Nashville, Tenn.
Cooper is expected to rejoin the team Friday night in New York for the start of a weekend series against the Yankees.
Bullpen coach Juan Nieves will serve as pitching coach in Cooper’s absence.
