SAN DIEGO (AP) — The San Diego Padres will place shortstop Everth Cabrera on the 15-day disabled list on Friday with a strained right hamstring.

Cabrera missed his third straight game on Thursday night. He originally hurt himself during the last homestand.

Manager Bud Black said the Padres will call up infielder Lance Zawadzki from Triple-A Portland. Zawadzki, coincidentally, had the first hit in Petco Park history when San Diego State beat Houston in 2004 in the first game at the downtown ballpark.
