ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Kansas City Royals have activated second baseman Chris Getz from the 15-day disabled list and optioned reliever Victor Marte to Triple-A Omaha.
Getz had been out with a strained right oblique since April 15. He was hitting .207 with one RBI in nine games prior to going on the DL.
Marte, recalled from Omaha before Thursday night’s game at Tampa Bay, allowed one run and two hits over 2 1-3 innings in the Royals’ 11-1 loss to the Rays.
The Rays made the moves Friday.
