ST. PETERSBURG, Fla. (AP) — The Tampa Bay Rays have recalled right-hander Jeremy Hellickson from Triple-A Durham and placed reliever Andy Sonnanstine on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left hamstring.
The moves were announced before Monday night’s game with Minnesota.
Hellickson, who leads the International League with 12 wins, was scheduled to make his major league debut Monday against the Twins.
Sonnanstine is 2-0 with a 4.22 ERA in 30 games.
