DETROIT (AP) — Detroit Tigers third baseman Brandon Inge is set to begin a rehabilitation assignment at Single-A West Michigan.
Inge has been on the disabled list since July 20 because of a broken left hand. He’ll play in the minors starting Tuesday.
Inge is hitting .263 with six home runs and 40 RBI in 88 games for the Tigers. He took 50 to 60 swings Monday and said his hand felt fine.
The Tigers also had the contract of infielder Jeff Larish claimed off waivers by the Oakland Athletics.
