PHOENIX (AP) — Washington Nationals right-hander Jason Marquis will start on Sunday, his first outing since having bone chips removed from his elbow in May.

Marquis signed a $15 million, two-year contract with the Nationals after being an All-Star with Colorado last year, but his first season in Washington has been an injury-filled bust. He was 0-3 with a 20.52 ERA in three starts before going on the DL with a sore elbow in April and had surgery on May 14.

Marquis will make his fourth start of the season Sunday against the Dodgers, filling left-hander Scott Olsen’s spot in the rotation. The Nationals, who get phenom Stephen Strasburg back on Tuesday, haven’t decided when Olsen will pitch next.
