SEATTLE (AP) — A small earthquake near Tacoma Thursday morning was even smaller than first thought.
The Pacific Northwest Seismic Network initially reported that the quake at 4:55 a.m. had a magnitude of 2.8. After it was reviewed by a seismologist later Thursday it was listed as a 1.5.
It was centered near Algona, about nine miles northeast of Tacoma.
Quakes of less than 2.0 are rarely felt.
