SEATTLE (AP) — A Seattle man who fatally shot another man in Leschi last summer because of a dispute over a woman has been sentenced to 20 years in prison.
20-year-old Tristan Appleberry had been convicted of second-degree murder with a firearm for killing 18-year-old Aaron Sullivan while Sullivan was sitting in a car in Leschi last July.
Appleberry had entered an Alford plea to the charge in King County Superior Court, in which he did not admit guilt but acknowledged that there was enough evidence for a jury to convict him. He was sentenced on Friday.
Police say Appleberry and Sullivan had been involved in a long-standing dispute over a woman and were part of two rival groups.
