CARSON, Calif. (AP) — David Beckham is scheduled to be on the field briefly with his Los Angeles Galaxy teammates on Wednesday.

Beckham is expected to complete a warmup with the rest of the team before continuing his rehab work with the club’s training staff for the remainder of the practice session.

The 35-year-old English midfielder tore his left Achilles’ tendon on March 14 while on loan to AC Milan in a Serie A match against Chievo Verona. He began his rehab for the injury in Los Angeles in April.

The injury shattered Beckham’s hopes of becoming the first English player to appear in four World Cups and has also forced him to miss all of the Major League Soccer season so far. The Galaxy close the MLS regular season Oct. 24.
