CORTLAND, N.Y. (AP) — Rookie Kyle Wilson could be in the New York Jets’ starting lineup in the opening game of the regular season if Darrelle Revis continues to hold out.

Revis has missed 10 days, including Tuesday, since the team reported for training camp at SUNY Cortland. He is scheduled to make $1 million in the fourth year of his six-year rookie deal, but wants to become the league’s highest-paid cornerback.

Owner Woody Johnson said Monday that he was not optimistic a deal could get done before the regular season.

Coach Rex Ryan says no one should feel sorry for the Jets, though, because they “have everything we need here on defense” — even without Revis. That means Wilson, the 29th overall pick, could see lots more action than he anticipated.
