Ridgefield — Ridgefield Public Schools Foundation has scheduled two fundraisers for later this month.

The first event is a barbecue at the annual Port of Ridgefield commissioners picnic. The barbecue is at 4 p.m. Aug. 20 at the Port of Ridgefield Boat Launch. Three Ridgefield-based professional barbecue teams will barbecue beef, pork and chicken for the event. “To go” boxes will be available in exchange for a donation.

The second event is the foundation’s inaugural back-to-school golf tournament. The tournament begins at 1 p.m. Aug. 24 at Tri-Mountain Golf Course, 1701 N.W. 299th St. The tournament will feature a four-person scramble format. The cost is $300 for a foursome and $75 for singles. The cost includes green fees, carts, dinner and prizes. Hole sponsorships are also available for $125. Contact Trent Thomas at trent.thomas@ridgefieldpsf.org or (503) 891-5086 to register.

The money raised at the events will support the foundation’s mini grant and scholarship programs for the 2010-11 school year.
