FLAGSTAFF, Ariz. (AP) — Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald is sidelined with a sprained right knee.
Coach Ken Whisenhunt says he fully expects the Pro Bowler to be ready for the team’s regular season opener.
Fitzgerald sprained his MCL when he was hit in his only reception Saturday night in a 19-16 preseason win over Houston. Fitzgerald stayed in for another series before leaving the game for good.
Whisenhunt says the team will be conservative in its treatment of the injury which could mean Fitzgerald won’t play at all in the remaining three preseason games.
