SEATTLE (AP) — While cooler temperatures are on the way for Washington, the National Weather Service says the spell of hot dry weather has raised the wildfire danger on the east slopes of the Cascades where a red flag warning is in effect until Tuesday night.

Forecasters say marine air pushing in from the coast will bring clouds and lower temperatures Wednesday to Western Washington. High temperatures will drop into the 70s and fall below normal by the weekend.

In Eastern Washington, forecasters said temperatures in the 90s may continue into Wednesday before cooling off to the 80s and 70s by the weekend.
