TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — The Pierce County sheriff’s office says fire that destroyed a Lake Tapps home on Sunday was arson.

Spokesman Ed Troyer says the home was targeted. He says detectives have several people they’d like to question about the fire.

The News Tribune of Tacoma reports the fire started in the home’s daylight basement.

The woman who lives at the home was out of town at the time getting married.

KOMO News reports Michelle and Ryan Karns returned from Las Vegas to find their home in ashes.
