A Camas motorcyclist was thrown from his bike Tuesday afternoon after he failed to negotiate a slight left turn and struck a guard rail on State Highway 14, five miles east of Washougal.

Jonn E. Posey, 30, of Camas was transported to Southwest Washington Medical Center where he was treated and released.

Posey was traveling eastbound around 2:30 p.m on the highway atop his Yamaha motorcycle. He was following the roadway as it curved left when he slipped into the guardrail.

He was wearing a helmet. Alcohol or drugs were not believed to have been a factor, according to a bulletin from the Washington State Patrol.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
