Chiefs QB Cassel making strides

ST. JOSEPH, Mo. (AP) — Some day, Matt Cassel may be known as more than the only quarterback to start an NFL game without ever starting one in college or high school.

Kansas City Chiefs coaches say Cassel has been making great strides in accuracy and game management.

And that high praise comes from none other than head coach Todd Haley, who throws around praise as though he were lifting barbells.

Last year, Cassel hit 55 percent of his passes for 2,924 yards and 16 touchdowns. But he also had 16 interceptions.
