The Vancouver Housing Authority expects to start work this fall on a $7.5 million Camas apartment complex that will charge reduced rents to people who earn between 50 percent and 80 percent of the area’s median income. A family of four with household income of $71,200 would qualify for the workforce housing project, dubbed Camas Ridge Apartments.

The complex will be located on 3 acres on the southwest corner of Northwest Logan and 28th Avenue in the Prune Hill neighborhood, near Dorothy Fox Elementary School. Monthly rents for the one- to three-bedroom units will range from $605 to $1,195.

Tigard, Ore.-based KeyWay Corp. is the project’s general contractor. Key Property Services, which will manage the site, plans to begin taking rental applications on May 1.

The project also will contain market-rate apartments in addition to the low-income units.
