BOSTON (AP) — Red Sox second baseman Dustin Pedroia has been scratched from the lineup with a sore left foot.
The 2008 AL MVP missed 44 games after he was placed on the disabled list on June 26 with a broken bone in his foot. He was activated Tuesday and played the last two games, going 1 for 7 with a single and a walk.
Jed Lowrie replaced Pedroia and was batting second Thursday night against the Los Angeles Angels.
