Straight Story wins $100,000 West Point Stakes

SARATOGA SPRINGS, N.Y. (AP) — Favored Straight Story took control leaving the stretch turn to win the $100,000 West Point Stakes for New York-breds by a length on the turf at Saratoga Race Course on Thursday.

Javier Castellano guided Straight Story over 1 1/8 miles on the inner turf course in 1:48.58 to earn $4.10, $2.90 and $2.50. Long-shot Pocket Cowboys returned $10.30 and $7.90 and Icabad Crane, third of 10, paid $4.60 to show.

The win earned $60,000 for owner Richard Santulli and was the first in stakes company for the Alan Goldberg-trained 4-year-old and the third in five starts this year.
