PITTSFORD, N.Y. (AP) — Buffalo Bills tight end Shawn Nelson has apologized for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy, saying he did nothing illegal.
Nelson spoke Saturday for the first time since receiving a four-game suspension, apologizing to the Bills, his family and the fans. He said “nothing bad, nothing illegal” happened despite rumors he was “dealing with some different types of things.”
Nelson did not participate in practice but was deemed healthy by coach Chan Gailey.
Gailey also announced that tight end Derek Schouman will miss three to six weeks after injuring his knee Thursday against the Indianapolis Colts.
Gailey also said linebacker Reggie Torbor will miss at least three weeks after suffering an undisclosed injury against the Colts.
