SEATTLE (AP) — Several hundred families who purchased bricks to honor friends or family are expected to help build a Japanese-American memorial in Seattle.

The memorial honors World War II internees and soldiers. The memorial is in Seattle’s International District.

People who bought bricks will be installing them until the memorial is dedicated on Sept. 5.
