CHICAGO (AP) — Former Illinois Gov. Rod Blagojevich says he thinks he’ll ultimately be found innocent, and he won’t rule out a political comeback when that happens.

Blagojevich spoke Sunday morning on “Fox News Sunday,” less than a week after jurors convicted him of lying to federal agents. However, the jury deadlocked on 23 more serious counts, including the allegation that he tried to sell President Barack Obama’s old Senate seat.

Prosecutors have said they will retry Blagojevich on those charges.

But the former governor insists he will be vindicated if that happens, and he told talk show host Chris Wallace, he won’t rule out another run for political office after that.

Blagojevich says politics “is what I know.”
