Two local builders have won recognition for work showcased in the Clark County Parade of Homes tour that took place in July.

With the theme, “Attainable Sustainable,” this year’s annual event showcased four custom-built homes that featured energy saving designs and appliances and sustainable building materials.

Three of the homes were built by Vancouver-based Tamarack Homes, which was awarded “Best Master Suite” for The Foursquare. Tamarack also won “Most Livable Floor Plan” for its home, The Prairie, and “Outstanding Architecture” for Prototype A.

The other Parade of Homes builder, New Tradition Homes, won “Best in Show” for its work on The Winlock, which was also awarded “Best Landscaping” and “Best Kitchen.”

Sponsored by the 800-member Building Industry Association of Clark County, the showcase featured homes that were all priced at around $300,000. Additional events included a tour of 25 new homes and building sites at locations around Clark County and a tour of remodeled homes.

The houses were all located in the Pioneer Canyon/Green Gables West community, on the northwest corner of Pioneer and 45th streets. Local home builders are already considering prospective sites and participants for next year’s Parade of Homes.
